India to Pakistan: Stop dreaming about Kashmir

United Nations: Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday told the United Nations that Pakistan should stop dreaming about capturing Kashmir because it is and will always remain an integral part of the country.

In a strong reply to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s address to the UN General Assembly last week, Sushma Swaraj hit out at the neighbour on the issue of terrorism and raked up the “human rights violations” in Balochistan.

She told the world body that India had offered an unconditional hand of friendship to Pakistan but got in return cross border terror attacks.

Violence erupts in southern India after top court orders water sharing

NEW DELHI: India’s top court on Monday ordered the southern state of Karnataka to release water from a disputed river to neighbouring Tamil Nadu after violence erupted in both states over water sharing.

The Supreme Court ordered Karnataka to release 12,000 cusecs (cubic feet per second) per day to Tamil Nadu until Sept 20. Farmers in both states, who depend on river water to irrigate their crops, have complained of severe water shortages.
